Founding Story Maria McKenty, the owner of Earthlight Landscaping was introduced to Permaculture at the age of 16. As an environmentally concerned and motivated teen, this was like an answer to her prayers of how to save the world. She completed the two-week intensive Permaculture Design Certificate training at the age of 18 with Lee Harrison and has been designing ever since.

textAbout Since 1995, I have designed and installed dozens of permaculture landscapes. It's a joy to help homeowners turn their yards into thriving food forests and resilient gardens; whether a city lot or an off-grid 10-acre parcel. My work includes using digital tools to craft custom designs all across temperate North America. I have specialized training in permaculture design, the soil food web, integrated pest management, organic agriculture, and herbal medicine. A passion for resilient systems drives my work to integrate food, medicine, native plants, pollinator habitats, and water harvesting into every project.
