Get to Know Matthew Britt - Strategic Partnerships

Matthew Britt is the Head of Sales and Strategic Partnerships at Food Forest Abundance. This is an interview with Chelsea Boissonneault to get to know Matthew a little bit more :)How did you get involved with FFA?I watched Jim on the Highwire, as well as heard him on the Tinfoil Hat podcast with Sam Tripoli. After that I reached out to Jim, as I was inspired by him and his mission. We developed a friendship and I started to shadow some calls to learn more about Food Forest Abundance and the work they were doing. My goal in mind at the time was to create a strategic partnership with Food Forest Abundance and the company I was working for at the time which was a solar company. It makes sense, both are companies that offer services and products to become more self-sufficient. I started working part time with Food Forest Abundance in July 2021 while I was still working with the solar company. I made the switch to work full time with FFA in January 2022.Were you hip to the world of Permaculture prior?I had heard of permaculture before, but I did not quite have a real comprehension as to what it really was all about. To describe what permaculture is to someone who isn’t hip to what it is about, I say that it is a system that is working in harmony with nature that mimics natural systems. It is permanent agriculture. Where do you see FFA in 1 year? 5 years? One year from now when Food Forest Abundance is 2.5 years old at that point, I foresee us having an incredible presence all over the world. I can see us having 300-500 cooperative installation partners all over the world. I also can see us selling 600 designs a month at that point. In 5 years I can see FFA having 10,000 cooperative installation partners all over the world, 500 Freedom Farm Academy locations, 1 million ambassadors and selling 200-300 designs a day. At what point do you think it’ll be necessary to grow your own food to not partake in NWO?I think its safe to say it’ll be pretty necessary within a year. Ideally this is the perfect time to start, before possible shortages in many items that will happen when the energy/fuel is said to be low or gone. We can already see a large increase in homesteading. Joel Salatin mentioned this the other day when he was on the Highwire. He said there is an explosion with the homesteading movement, which means people are understanding the need to become self-sufficient.What else do you foresee as being important in the years to come, apart from growing our own food? Most definitely capturing water on your property, with multiple ways if possible (well, rain catchment, stream/lake as examples). I would also say producing your own energy, such as solar or wind. Understanding a lot more of the important things in terms of wellness should also be a priority. Another important factor is community. Finding people who can do things you aren’t great at. What are you good at? What value do you bring to the community yourself? If you want to be self-sufficient and separate from the system, then its done much easier amongst a community by far. What is it like working with Food Forest Abundance? It is really fantastic, I personally love it! I love what I get to do every day, including talking to people in the freedom movement, focusing on solutions, and inspiring people to do stuff  and to jump in head first. I enjoy seeing people taking ownership of their own lives, and the lives of their families. I love that I get to use my own creativity, and that I get to bring lots of value to the company. I am really enjoying working with Jim on our new podcast called The Jim Gale Show. We have had so many amazing guests and so many more lined up to come.
